The New York County District Attorneys Office (DANY) has an opening for an Assistant Supervisor in its Case Management Services Unit (CMS). In this position the Assistant Supervisor is responsible for providing supervisory support to employees in Case Support Services.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Help supervise staff and ensure appropriate coverage for the unit.
-Direct staff members who organize and manage case files court notes and documents.
-Provide leadership guidance and direction to the staff in how to handle incoming emails and requests.
-Assist management in producing reports.
-Coordinate with administrative staff of other organizations to ensure that services schedules and projects meets objectives and deadlines.
-Coordinate with leaders to ensure that the departments data goals and objectives are met.
-Lead train and provide guidance to a team of Court Part Data Specialist to meet the offices goals and objectives.
-Perform in-depth computer searches of data discrepancies in reference to the offices data.
-Update internal tracking systems to organize adjournments pleas defense attorney changes and sentencing information for the cases.
-Check documents and analyze data for accuracy of information and conformity with established policies.
-Create spreadsheets charts and other visual aids.
-Fix and solve data issues using investigation and research skills to maintain correct information in various internal programs.
-Collect and analyze data relevant to cases using Criminal Inquiry Systems (CIS) information finished court calendars and other programs.
-Help to create and maintain various in-house management systems used to track cases.
-Perform related tasks as assigned by supervisor.
In addition to the Minimum Qualification Requirements candidates must possess the following:
-Bachelors degree from an accredited college and minimum one (1) year of relevant experience.
Preferred Requirements/Skills:
-Experience in the Criminal Justice System.
-Ability to supervise various levels of staff based on office initiatives.
-Ability to work evenings weekends and holidays.
-Superior interpersonal organizational and communication skills.
-Ability to interact with all levels of staff witnesses defense attorneys law enforcement personnel community residents community organizations and partners and law enforcement agencies to build institutional relationships.
-Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and Access.
-Ability to maintain update and edit existing and new in-house proprietary databases.
-Ability to work independently and manage multiple short-term projects.
-Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow.
-Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
-Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies procedures and guidelines.
-Self-motivated with ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
-Ability to prioritize among competing needs and respond quickly to requests for information.
-An understanding of general practices related to legal records management data protection and privacy/confidentiality.

Additional Information:
-Current office employees: To be eligible for a transfer or promotion staff must have already served at least one (1) year in their current unit/bureau/department and be in good standing. In addition must meet the minimum and additional qualifications of the position.
-Two (2) years commitment to the hiring unit.
-Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.

2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 above.
