Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing accounts payable maintaining financial records and supporting general accounting functions. This position handles vendor invoice entry and filing assists with month-end close reconciles general ledger accounts and supports accounts receivable by applying payments and following up on past-due balances. Additional duties include maintaining accurate vendor files preparing reconciliations posting journal entries and bank activity and ensuring compliance with internal documentation and approval processes. This is a detail-focused deadline-driven role that plays a key part in the day-to-day financial operations of Vista Care.

Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

  • Processing accounts payable
  • maintaining associated records
  • collaborate with accounts receivable
  • process daily invoices
  • Posting journal entries into accounting system
  • AP vendor file maintenance
  • An internal audit of AP/AR vendor / customer adds / changes
  • Reviewing of AP expenses batches
  • Monthly review of Payables
  • Preparing various reconciliations
  • Maintaining credit card transactions and preparation of reconciliations
  • Posting of the bank activity into the accounting system.
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • 1099 maintenance
  • Occasional lifting of up to fifteen (15) pounds
  • Sedentary Work



Requirements

  • Minimum 2-years degree in Accounting or more years of work experience.
  • Special skills required Must be proficient using calculator and Microsoft or Google suite products experience using computerized accounts payable system good oral communication and telephone skills and basic accounting principles.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical Requirements Requires repetitive manual and finger dexterity and eye- hand coordination; requires the ability to use all office equipment. Must be able to remain awake and alert for the duration of each shift bend stoop push pull reach twist sit and walk for periods of time.
  • Visual hearing and communication requirements Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with all staff other professionals and individuals. Must be able to give and receive verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Work location Primarily office settings with varying degrees of background noise.
