Description

ABOUT THE ROLE:The Billing Specialist is responsible for working with the Billing Coordinator in overseeing collections billing cash posting and refunds.

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:

  • On-site position Monday-Friday.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • $48000 $54000/year exempt.
  • Salary based on skills and experience.
  • Up to 6% annual bonus eligibility.
  • 403b retirement plan with up to a 4% company match.

A TYPICAL DAY FOR YOU AT HH:

  • Process claims for Medicare Medicaid HMOs and PPOs and all other private insurances.
  • Apply cash receipts timely and accurately.
  • Generate and reconcile billing activity in a timely manner meeting all deadlines established.
  • Conduct weekly/monthly reviews and report on cash collections payment posting accounts receivable reviews and credit balance resolution with accuracy.
  • Maintain the client billing system ensuring all client information is updated.
  • Initiate complete and process payer credentials for new and existing providers.
  • Communicate the eligibility requirements and insurance authorizations with direct care staff.
  • Assist in submitting billing to the State of Illinois Department of Human Services accurately and timely.
  • Assist in preparing reports as required by governmental agencies.
  • Assist in preparing daily/weekly/monthly reports to management.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of the system of internal controls for the entire claims cycle.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures as needed to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Process and maintain confidential information and properly document information.
  • Comply with all federal state and local regulatory guidelines and laws.
  • Adhere to generally accepted accounting principles as applicable.
  • Organize and manage multiple priorities both independently and as part of a team.
  • Build and maintain confidence and credibility with all clients and employees.
  • This position at times will utilize data protected under HIPAA.
  • Must attend all team/agency meetings and trainings as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

LAND THIS OPPORTUNITY BY HAVING:

Education:

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or technical school.

Experience:

  • 5 years of related experience and/or training may be accepted in place of Associate Degree.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be accepted.

Skill Sets:

  • The ability to process and maintain confidential information and to properly document information.
  • The ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles as applicable.
  • The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities both independently and as part of a team.
  • The ability to build and maintain confidence and credibility with all clients and employees.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to promote and adhere to company values.
  • A commitment to a diverse inclusive and equitable work environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to assist others access file cabinets office machinery etc.
  • The ability to observe details at a close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in all situations.
  • Consistently position self to maintain files in cabinets or assist team members.
  • Ability to work in a shared multi-task multi-person business office.
