Where and how you can work
Our flagship campus is in Sydney Australia but we engage our Contractors all over the world to help us meet our crazy big goals. As a Contractor at Canva you can work remotely in from anywhere in the United Kingdom meaning you have ultimate flexibility. Wherever works for you works for us. Please note this is a 6-month contract with full-time hours.
What youd be doing in this role
As a Senior Designer / Motion Designer youll collaborate closely with an Art Director and Creative Director to elevate Canvas visual presence across Europe. Partnering with a talented team including copywriters freelancers and agencies youll ideate design and execute for projects that elevate our brand primarily working across Performance Marketing youll help create scroll-stopping performance ads from statics to UGC style and full production videos that build Canvas brand and performance across Europe.
Design expertise is essential to the role and a background or experience in motion design is a huge plus we want to make work that moves (people)! Were looking for someone who can bring concepts to life with creativity and attention to detail. This role is perfect for a versatile individual with the ability to tell powerful stories through their work.

At the moment this role is focused on:
Driving the visual direction for performance campaigns keeping every project fresh engaging and innovative.
Designing storyboarding and animating ads and hype reels that bring Canva to life across social.
Confidently pitch concepts and present work to senior creative leaders product marketing managers and stakeholders clearly articulating the creative vision and strategic approach.
Animating with the same creativity and clarity you bring to your designs.
Passionate about exceptional art direction and design thats not just beautiful but also thoughtful meaningful and when it needs to be provocative.
Collaborating with external vendors providing clear art direction guidance and feedback to help elevate their work.
Working closely with the Creative Director to ensure schedules are accurate and realistic and that deadlines are met.
Youre probably a match if
You have proven extensive experience in design advertising and branding.
Were looking for someone with strong design and motion design with experience driving projects from start to finish.
An understanding that spans digital design product design is key to ensuring that your vision is fully realised.
Excited to jump on Canva and Affinity.
Native-level English skills. Additional languages are a plus (French Spanish Italian Turkish German).
This is a remote role with flexible working hours but youll need to balance your schedule to accommodate occasional global team meetings in the evening (6-9 PM)
