Job Title:Dispatch Coordinator
Company Introduction:G&C Food Distributors is a leading re-distributor of refrigerated frozen and dry food serving customers across 27 states domestically and 35 countries internationally. As part of our continued growth we are expanding into Alachua FL with a new distribution center. To support this expansion we are seeking a professional and dynamic Dispatch Coordinator to join our team.
Location: In Office- Alachua FL
Pay:$22.00 - $26.00
Schedule: Monday through Friday 11:00 AM 8:00 PM
Job Summary:
The Dispatch Coordinator will work directly with the Transportation Team including Dispatch Supervisor and Dispatch Manager on Routing and Dispatch of drivers on a consistent basis. The goal is to assist in the daily customer service and administrative activities of the Transportation Department to ensure accurate and prompt delivery service to our customers. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work under time restrictions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Dispatch Supervisor in planning routes determining the order of stops and adjusting schedules as needed
- Assign drivers to specific routes based on availability location priority and Hours of Service
- Provides support to drivers on dispatch/route/tractor/trailer or other equipment issues
- Communicate dispatch time route backhauls and any other special instructions with Drivers
- Communicate with Sales Purchasing Customers and Drivers concerning delivery appointment times and ETA
- Use of E-Logs and TMS system to track and monitor driver movements in real-time
- Complete and email domicile lots of sheet to track equipment effectively
- Help find quick solutions to delivery issues such as delays breakdowns reschedules or re-routes
- Monitor trailer temperature alarms
- Maintain auto router
- Serve as a backup for Dispatch Supervisor and other Dispatch Coordinators
- Additional duties as assigned
Experience and Education Required:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Warehouse loading experience preferred
- Experience in the food industry a plus
- Experience in transportation or logistics a plus
