Job Summary:

Identify and resolve issues with existing dies to ensure they meet customer specifications. Document all modifications in detail to provide clear guidance to the die vendor enabling the production of replacement dies with enhanced performance.

Required Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in English including basic commands.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Engineering degree preferred or combination of technical school and experience in similar roles.

Job Responsibilities:

• Polish die after correction and transport to set up area.
• Review new die designs from vendor with Supervisor and Dept manager recommending possible improvements.
• Document corrections on section specific paperwork so it can be sent to vendor for redesign of next die.
• Review die performance history and recommend changes to design to improve performance.
• Identify tooling by size type and where it is stored.
• Understand the meaning of the numbers stenciled on the tooling. Enter data into computer system.
• Proper operation of die press sandblaster Nitrider caustic systems and end mill.
• Identify defects on die bearings and technique to repair them.
• Understand metal flow in a die and techniques to change it.
• Minimal travel required.
