At MSV Housing were committed to making sure our customers have good quality safe homes and our Young Person Independent Living Officer are key to making this happen.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our established team. Reporting to our Foyer Manager our Young Person Independent Living Officers provide support to vulnerable young people by ensuring regulatory compliance safeguarding and delivering tailored person-centred support that promotes independence and personal growth. It also involves collaboration with key stakeholders and the promotion of the Foyer model to help young people thrive through structured opportunities and mentoring.

In addition we are looking for candidates that have a passion to advocate on behalf of people and communities.

What do our YPILOs do;

  • Conduct initial and comprehensive assessments for at-risk children and young people providing direct support crisis intervention and referrals to appropriate services including for mental health and neurodiversity needs.

  • Manage safeguarding cases maintain accurate records attend statutory meetings and ensure timely updates to support plans risk assessments and case notes.

  • Build strong relationships with internal teams external partners and statutory agencies to coordinate care improve outcomes and ensure effective service delivery.

  • Guide residents through licence agreements monitor rent and occupancy charges support benefit access and assist with move-on accommodation and tenancy sustainment.

  • Coach and mentor residents using a strengths-based approach promote education training and employment and ensure adherence to MSV and Foyer policies and procedures.

What we are looking for;

  • Good standard of education with minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C or above including Maths and English.

  • Experience of advocacy on behalf of customers.

  • Experience of working with customers with Mental Health and Vulnerabilities

  • Good understanding of mental health and vulnerable customer needs of a knowledge of trauma informed practice

  • Managing and prioritising a demanding workload.
