Job Description Summary

Commissioning of Protection Control & Automation System of EHV Sub-Station Projects.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Overall Site Lead Commissioning Manager for Execution of the EHV / HV / LV Protection Control & Automation Sub-Station Project within the project time frame.
  • GEV Site Representative for the Customer and responsible for maintaining high level of customer relationship and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish the GEV Site Commissioning Site Environment Health & Safety Policy Plan and Quality Assurance Policy.
  • Knowledge of advanced Main Relays Testing & Configuration of various manufacturers (GE / ABB / SIEMENS / SEL / SE ) etc.
  • Coordinate with other various functions and all stakeholders including third party agencies and/or subcontractors for all the interfaces during the development of the Commissioning activities.
  • Determine sequence of testing and Commissioning and develop with the Site Manager an
    optimum construction completion schedule.
  • Review of all approved schematic drawings and Main Relays settings availability.
  • Ensure all Testing Engineers are authorized to perform the relative testing Test Formats are available as per the process and all equipments have valid calibration certificates prior to start of the works.
  • Reporting of Non-Conformance related to failures of components and generating NCP.
  • Recommend field changes beneficial to plant operations or necessary for efficient
    commissioning.
  • Prepare final Commissioning report highlighting problem areas recommended engineering
    changes improvements in organizational efficiency and personnel performance evaluations to ensure that experience gained from each Commissioning is fed back to PM Team.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports of activities performed by Commissioning group and highlight any negative events such as delays design/erection errors missing spares etc.
  • Check the safe testing procedures are implemented - Permits Method Statements Risk Assessments LOTO and all high-risk activities are followed during operation sequences and in use of equipment and materials.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication between the site Commissioning group and other function support group.
  • Developing of red markup schematic drawings modification as per site requirement for As Built Drawings.
  • Reporting of ROE for the completed project for each activity.
  • Control and over-see CE responsibilities.
  • Supports ITO Team with conducting site visits for commissioning related projects and provide detail technical report of Control & Protection system of the sub-station project

Required qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Registered in Saudi Council of Engineering
  • Minimum Ten Years as Testing & Commissioning Manager Working in EHV Sub-Station Projects
  • 10 Years Experience in Commissioning of Protection Control & Automation System of EHV Sub-Station Projects
  • Must be willing to move within Saudi Arabia as per the Business Requirements
  • The legal right to work in KSA without company sponsorship or time restriction
