Loyens & Loeff is hiring a Medior Associate specialized in commercial transactional work and life sciences to join our Dispute Resolution practice.
The team handles cases for high profile clients in the areas of commercial contracting (distribution and agency contracts joint ventures terms and conditions e-commerce laws etc.) IP/IT law (IP/IT disputes licensing trade secrets misappropriation etc.) liability law (product liability contractual and tort liability rules AI liability etc.) and insurance law. The members also team up with the firms Corporate M&A lawyers to assist in due diligence advise on transactional documentation (reps & warranties specific indemnities) and to draft and negotiate transitional services agreements. The team is also very active in the life sciences industry managing both contractual disputes and transactional advisory work for clients in this industry.
Your profile:
- You hold a Masters degree in Belgian law with excellent academic records;
- You have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in: the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts (B2B and B2C); advising clients on pre-litigation strategies (relating to both contractual and extra-contractual liability) and assisting in settlement negotiations; advising clients on e-commerce and digital economy legislation (AI DSA etc.); and performing due diligence on commercial contracts and regulatory documents drafting and negotiating transitional services agreements in an M&A context.
- Experience with the review of insurance policies and analysis of insurance risks would be a plus as would regulatory life sciences expertise;
- You have a perfect knowledge of Dutch and/or French and you have an excellent command of English;
- You work proactively and you are results driven you do not shy away from stepping outside your comfort zone and taking ownership;
- You are a team player eager to learn and you communicate easily and effectively with your colleagues (within your own team and in other teams) and clients;
- You want to further develop your skills in a challenging and international working environment and are eager to contribute to business development projects such as client seminars and in-house presentations.
