Join our dynamic and established Health & Safety Team at St Vincents in an exciting opportunity for career development! Were seeking an enthusiastic individual eager to make a tangible impact and drive our safety culture forward. As a Work Health & Safety (WHS) Partner you will be at the forefront of ensuring the effective implementation of WHS systems and processes contributing directly to St Vincents commitment to exceptional care.

Leverage your WHS knowledge and skills to deliver efficient service championing best practices and the highest standards of WHS performance and regulatory compliance across diverse workplaces. This role offers the chance to provide expert advice and technical support playing a vital part in shaping a safer environment for all at St Vincents.

This is a Permanent Full Time position based in our St Vincents Hospital Melbourne Fitzroy Campus. Your role will primarily see you providing support on-site to our St Vincents residential aged care and private hospital facilities across Victoria.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Providing ongoing timely and accurate WHS support and advice to St Vincents facilities
  • Identifying opportunities for improving WHS processes and risk mitigation controls
  • Driving engagement with workers to ensure that effective processes are in place to provide and maintain high levels of safety
  • Conducting WHS audits and gap analysis and identify required improvement actions.
  • Undertake and/or facilitate investigations for WHS incidents
  • Foster a positive and collaborative relationship with HSRs and WHS Committee members and the wider organisation

  • Understanding of risk management and continuous improvement approaches to improve safety outcomes
  • Strong computer skills for efficiency in managing WHS data utilising digital systems and leveraging technology to enhance safety processes
  • Ability and flexibility to engage with various teams and work across multiple sites gaining broad exposure and ensuring no two days are the same
  • Great communication skills to clearly and effectively convey complex WHS information to diverse audiences build strong relationships foster collaboration and empower others to champion safety initiatives across the organisation
