The Event Coordinator plans hosts and promotes all aspects of DTS-DC events with the Interim Director of DTS-DC. DTS-DC Campus hosts events that support activities of the Admissions Advising and Student Life teams. These events range from small gatherings (5-12 people) mid-sized events (30-45 people) to larger events (150 people). Support annual campus events such as Chapels Seminary Preview Days New Student Orientation and Graduation Gala. Additional events extend to activities that support the Advising Student Life DTS Alumni or DTS Advancement initiatives.
Duties/Responsibilities
Report to Associate Director to plan and execute campus events supporting DC campus events and other department initiatives.
Provide point of contact for DTS-DC campus events on and off campus.
Cultivate relationships with students alumni staff faculty and friends of DTS
Communicate with the DTS DC campus staff: Operations Admissions Advising Student Life IT and other staff to determine event logistic requirements
Responsible for determining catering needs ordering supplies with the Operations Manager.
Develop promotional emails newsletters and send out regular communications to advertise events.
Work with DTS MarCom team or others to post events on DTS Website develop approved branded graphics or generate print materials.
Enlist volunteers to assist with event execution such as worship leaders for chapel.
Develop slides presentations or handouts for events.
Secure appropriate contractors or vendors to support events such as caterers printers or photographers.
Attend DTS-DC staff meeting and fulfill duties as required by the Operations Manager
Occasional travel is required within the region
Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Professional hospitable presence in-person electronically and over the phone
Detail-oriented and organized
Able to handle several responsibilities simultaneously
Anticipate needs during events work calmly on your feet
Able to work well on a team
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree preferred.
Familiarity with DTS degree programs and history preferred.
Comfortable with developing copy and graphical designs for attention grabbing promotional print material social media posts and electronic communications.
Experience hosting meetings over Microsoft Teams.
Experience with design tools such as MS Publisher or Adobe products.
Experience managing multiple projects.
Exposure to project management software such as Asana.
