Bryn Mawr Trust a WSFS Company provides locally managed and collaborative wealth management solutions including a broad array of planning and advisory services investment management trust and estate planning brokerage and investment services to individual corporate and institutional clients through multiple integrated businesses.
The Tax Director Personal Tax Services will manage a small tax team and offer support to our banking and private wealth clients. The goal of this role is to grow our tax filing and tax planning revenue and clients. As part of this growth initiative the Tax Director will deliver exceptional service to our clients in the tax arena capture wallet share and improve our wholistic planning. This senior role will deal with a line of business leaders to help meet evolving tax needs and will conduct research on various matters relating to client needs through independent research and/or collaboration with external experts.
Job Responsibilities:
- Speak directly with clients and advisors to develop thought leadership pieces on relevant tax materials. Support the planning team on tax planning and wallet share capture.
- Responsible for business line expenses managing the annual financial budget mentoring the tax team members help recruit over time as needed price services accordingly and assist the broader tax and wealth team as needed.
- Work closely with the Tax Director and COO on coordinating broader tax strategies and services at the firm.
- Assist with providing accurate professional and confidential communication with administrators and other internal departments and outside accountants/advisors when responding to requests or providing support.
- Other responsibilities include preparing reviewing correcting and inputting client tax information for tax systems registers and tax filings as well as overseeing the mailing of all tax filings and reporting for the various business lines while tracking the status of the tax returns and other documentation with authorities. Timely tax filings and clear/timely client communications will be KPIs tracked.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business-related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting tax or legal experience.
- Credentialed tax professional- EA CPA or LLM.
- Must have experience in personal tax preparation and secondary review.
- Must have the ability to accurately access the tax compliance requirements per review of trust document/custody agreements.
- Must possess strong accounting legal and analytical skills especially in fiduciary and estate tax rules and regulations.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal colleagues external clients and advisors.
- Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of IRS filing systems such as EFTPS and FINCEN.
- Must have supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with tax software (OneSource) trust accounting software (SEI SWP) and TranStar preferred.
