ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY ASSESSMENTS FOR CALIFORNIA ASSESSOR
CURRICULUM
2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR
We are now accepting applications for the following certificated position.
POSITION(S): English Language Proficiency Assessments for California Assessor
Hourly Non-bargaining unit position
REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Single Subject credential; or a Multiple Subject credential
Valid English Learner Authorization (EL/CLAD/BCLAD)
A Bachelors Degree relevant to the credential area.
Previous experience teaching a variety of learners in a multi-level classroom.
DESCRIPTION:
This is an hourly position to serve as an Assessor for the English Language Proficiency Assessments (ELPAC) for students identified as English Language Learners. The Assessor will complete training with Curriculum Department staff to certify as an ELPAC Assessor. Assessors will be scheduled for ELPAC testing at sites across the district. Schedule will be provided in advance. The ELPAC assessment requires the Assessor to utilize an online platform to monitor student performance and to provide one-on-one assessments for students in speaking. Assessor directly reports to Curriculum Department Administrators.
WORK SCHEDULE: 100 days; Hourly up to 22.5 hours/week; dependent upon student assessment needs
SALARY: $43.87/hr - Class 1 Step 1 Certificated Hourly Salary Schedule
Additional Information: The LMUTA CBA expressly excludes both hourly employees and adult education teachers from the health insurance provisions for regular certificated employees. The Education Code does not require Districts to provide health insurance. The Federal Affordable Care Act requires that the minimum qualifications for affordable and essential coverage is offered to teachers who work at least an average of 30 hours or more per week (6 hours per day) equivalent to 0.80 FTE.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

PREFERRED:
Experience: Infusing technology into classroom teaching and learning. Successful organization and implementation of assessment activities. Highly skilled in achieving results through planning and execution critical thinking and problem solving and effective decision-making processes. Can effectively manage the design and execution of assessments and are very responsive to the needs of students and the context in which learning and assessing is taking place.
Personal Qualities: Resourceful innovative helpful diligent persistent and a willingness to work with colleagues and students.
Additional: Bilingual: English/Spanish.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
INSTRUCTIONAL
Assess students as a trained ELPAC Assessor.
Other duties as assigned.
STUDENT MANAGEMENT
Maximize opportunities for student success by creating positive mentoring and working relationships with students and colleagues.
Promote positive behavior and achieve an effective learning environment in the classroom; maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
Meet deadlines; maintain appropriate records and prepare progress reports as required; follow district promotion policy.

Maintain positive staff relations; Work closely with the site principal.
Networking and collegiality mutual support and deep individual and collective reflection and expected amongst staff.
Promote a positive image of public education; willingly engages with community and business partners to be incorporated as a resource in curriculum development and student projects.
Handle multiple roles and adjunct duties to make the school work for the students.
Attend and participate in required training activities.
