Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as Peace Corps representative to UHM campus advising students about service opportunities in Peace Corps
Facilitate student recruitment to service and coordinating community outreach activities on Oahu.
Distribute PC materials prepare and conduct information sessions and tables and class presentations
Screen applicants and conduct interviews
Coordinate processing of application materials for referral to Peace Corps
Prepare/submit monthlyandfinal reports on Peace Corps
Compile detailed required for training and recruitment
Minimum Qualifications:
Baccalaureate degree and one year of experience in advising students about service opportunities in Peace Corps
Must be a returned Peace Corps Volunteer with enthusiasm about Peace Corps
Knowledge of federal and program databases and reporting systems
Detailed knowledge of university and federal program regulations.
Strong communication skills
Strong time management and good organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
Ability to be creative and flexible in the development of recruitment / informational programs to attract a variety of individuals to Peace Corps
Ability to travel independently to various geographical locations in a timely manner. Requirements may be fulfilled by a valid Hawaii drivers license (class 3) comparable drivers license or other means of transportation which meets position needs
Ability to work outside of normal working hours including evenings weekends and holidays as needed
Desired Qualifications:
Peace Corps experience/background in scarce skills areas of agriculture second language/TESL and/or health related occupations.
