Job Description

Job Title:Specialty Doctor in Adult Psychiatry
Grade:Specialty Doctor
Location:Havant Hampshire
Working Hours:40 hours per week

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Doctor in Adult Psychiatry to join our esteemed NHS clients team in Havant Hampshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to contribute to the delivery of high-quality mental health services for adults. This vacancy is available on a locum basis for the successful candidate to start immediately on a short-term contract. This vacancy offers competitive rates.

What will your responsibilities be

  • Provide psychiatric care and support for adults with a range of mental health conditions
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments formulate diagnoses and develop treatment plans
  • Hold Section 12 approval and contribute to responsibilities under the Mental Health Act
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychologists nurses social workers and other healthcare professionals
  • Support and supervise junior medical staff and trainees
  • Participate in service development clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
  • Engage with families carers and external agencies to ensure holistic person-centred care

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Minimum of 4 years post-graduate experience including psychiatry
  • Section 12 approval essential
  • MRCPsych or equivalent qualification (desirable)
  • Experience working in adult psychiatry and multidisciplinary team settings
  • Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and clinical governance
