Senior Payroll Officer
On-site located at our Lismore NSW office or Coffs Harbour NSW office
Full-time permanent position. Commencing as soon as possible.

Position Purpose:
Under the direction of the Team Leader Payroll undertake a high-volume of payroll processing utilising the positional based EmpowerHR software to all employees of the DLCS Office and the 45 Schools in the Diocese of Lismore.
As a Senior Payroll Officer this role supports the underlying Mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Lismore by delivering services that contribute to enabling students to achieve the fullness of life.
Qualifications and Work Experience:
- Qualificationsin payroll or accounting; and/or a minimum three years experience in a large organisation with high volume payroll processing with end-to-end production knowledge and skills.
- A current/valid Australian Drivers Licence and eligibility to work within Australia.
- Compliance with Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead as prescribed by the Bishops of NSW or working towards accreditation at the appropriate level upon commencement.
- A National Police Check or ability to obtain if the successful candidate.
- Experience with education payroll is highly desirable.
Key Capabilities:
- Experience with cloud-based payroll software (EmpowerHR is highly regarded but not essential).
- Demonstrated above average skills in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office software.
- Strong attention to detail with sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be organised efficient and able to multitask with a drive to achieve continuous improvement in the overall payroll process.
- Proven ability to interpret multiple and complex employee conditions such as awards enterprise agreements as well as a sound understanding of current legislation such as superannuation long service leave Australian taxation and workers compensation.
- Proven ability to work as an effective team member within a collaborative team environment.
