Keeping Washington Clean and Evergreen
The Department of Ecology is hiring anEnterprise Content Management Unit Manager (IT Data Management Manager)within theAdministrative Services Division.
Location:
- Headquarters Office in Lacey WA.
- Upon hire you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.
Schedule:
- This position is eligible for telework and flexible schedule options.
- A minimum of one day per week is required in the office.
- Schedules are dependent upon position needs and are subject to change.
Duties
The Department of Ecology is building a new Enterprise Content Management (ECM) team within the Information Governance Unit. In this position you will oversee implementation of ECM and the new Laserfiche ECM tool. You will report to the Information Governance Manager in Administrative Services and will work collaboratively across all programs and regions. ECM will focus on digital automation and lifecycle workflows designed for simple and sustainable records and information management.
What you will do:
- Manage a team of 5 staff including business analysts and data managers; work closely with IT records and public disclosure staff.
- Collaborate with 11 environmental programs and several administrative programs including fiscal and HR to leverage ECM workflows and content lifecycle.
- Lead team meetings and team building exercises in coordination with Information Governance Manager (IGM).
- Assess rank and prioritize ECM projects across Ecology to ensure projects with high benefit and low costs are pursued.
- Track metrics that are focused on workflow and content lifecycle enhancements and report out cost/benefit efforts at regular intervals.
- Demonstrate how automation of workflows and content lifecycle is achieved more efficiently with continuing improvements including use of AI and building of new models and training data.
- Report semi-annually to the IGM on automation improvements that clearly benefit workflow efficiency and records and information management gains.

Required Qualifications:
Eight years of experience and/or education as described below:
- Experience:Recent professional experience in IT project management.
- Educationinvolving a major study in Computer Science Information Technology (IT)Computer Engineering project management or closely related field.
Examples of how to qualify:
- 8 years of experience.
- 7 years of experience AND 30-59 semester or 45-89 quarter college credits.
- 6 years of experience AND 60-89 semester or 90-134 quarter college credits (associates degree).
- 5 years of experience AND 90-119 semester or 135-179 quarter college credits.
- 4 years of experience AND a bachelors degree.
Desired Qualifications:
- A bachelors degree with a focus on Information Technology Computer Science Computer Engineering or project management or related field and four years of agile project management experience.
- Education and knowledge of environmental sciences and supporting science-based business areas.
- Experience supervising leading and mentoring IT professionals in a team and individual capacity.
