Job Description
- Location: Irving TX 75061
- Shift: 12 HR Days 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Compensation: Based on experience
The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who provides safe effective and patient-centered care within the Cardiovascular Operating Room. This role requires clinical expertise in surgical procedures patient assessment and collaboration with the surgical team to ensure optimal outcomes.
Clinical Judgment
- Conducts accurate assessments using sound clinical reasoning.
- Identifies and prioritizes patient and family needs.
- Develops implements evaluates and adjusts nursing care plans to meet clinical goals.
Clinical Inquiry
- Evaluates nursing practice for quality and effectiveness.
- Supports evidence-based practice and contributes to quality improvement initiatives.
Caring Practices
- Ensures a therapeutic and safe environment.
- Develops supportive relationships with patients and families.
- Manages pain and distress to promote healing.
Response to Diversity
- Respects and integrates cultural social and personal differences into care planning.
Advocacy and Moral Agency
- Protects patient rights privacy and dignity.
- Advocates for patient and family concerns.
- Addresses ethical and clinical issues as needed.

- Strong understanding of nursing and surgical standards procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and patient care protocols.
- Knowledge of medications and potential adverse effects.
- Ethical practice and patient privacy awareness.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking observation and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to provide age-appropriate culturally sensitive care.
- Skilled in electronic medical records Microsoft Office and healthcare systems.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
OR - 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN (preferably in a CVOR or Operating Room setting).
Certifications/Licenses:
- Registered Nurse (RN)-Active Texas license or compact state equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)-Current or within 30 days of hire/transfer.
