Job Summary: The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who provides safe effective and patient-centered care within the Cardiovascular Operating Room. This role requires clinical expertise in surgical procedures patient assessment and collaboration with the surgical team to ensure optimal outcomes.
Essential Functions of the Role: Clinical Judgment
- Conducts accurate assessments using sound clinical reasoning.
- Identifies and prioritizes patient and family needs.
- Develops implements evaluates and adjusts nursing care plans to meet clinical goals.
Clinical Inquiry
- Evaluates nursing practice for quality and effectiveness.
- Supports evidence-based practice and contributes to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications: Education:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
OR - 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN (preferably in a CVOR or Operating Room setting).
Certifications/Licenses:
- Registered Nurse (RN)-Active Texas license or compact state equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)-Current or within 30 days of hire/transfer.
