Job Description

3 months contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
The Business Support Officer plays a vital role in supporting the surveying and technical teams across a range of housing and asset management projects.
These include legal disrepair voids adaptations major repairs and private sector housing initiatives.
The role involves providing project administrative and coordination support to ensure the smooth running of service delivery within the Repairs & Maintenance business unit.

Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Provide comprehensive project support including the preparation of documents such as reports spreadsheets presentations and project plans.
Maintain document control systems and ensure timely and accurate version management across all project files and correspondence.
Coordinate and produce performance documentation ensuring reporting deadlines are met and contributing to quality assurance and change control.
Manage communications on behalf of the surveying team and respond to stakeholder and resident enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
Assist with financial processing tasks including preparing and inputting payment data in accordance with financial procedures.
Support project delivery by organising consultations monitoring approvals tracking project milestones and maintaining accurate project records.
Service meetings by preparing agendas taking accurate minutes and following up on agreed actions.
Carry out research and analysis on relevant topics to support team priorities and project delivery.
Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to support the delivery of housing-related projects.
Update websites and maintain project-related communications and content.
Monitor and manage the use of team assets such as ICT and surveying equipment.
Act independently and exercise initiative within defined policies and procedures to solve problems and suggest process improvements.

Skills/Experience:
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and general ICT systems.
Understanding of project management processes document control and administrative coordination.
Experience of working with a variety of information systems and producing reports using graphs and charts.
Background in supporting service delivery in housing public sector or similar environments.
Confident in processing complex data and producing clear well-structured reports.
Excellent organisational interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

Additional Information:
General duties including IT office support but also must be able and confident in driving a 3.5 tonne mobile office/van. dropping and picking up across the week for colleagues to use for various events.
