Job Summary:
An experienced and proactive Senior Social Worker / Specialist Social Worker is required to join a busy Localities Team on a temporary basis.
The role involves leading complex casework providing high-quality support to vulnerable service users and contributing to the delivery of statutory social care responsibilities.
This is a frontline role focused on safeguarding and promoting independence wellbeing and positive outcomes for adults in the community.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Manage a complex caseload of adults with care and support needs under the Care Act 2014.
Carry out person-centred assessments reviews and support planning in line with statutory duties.
Undertake safeguarding enquiries and risk assessments making appropriate interventions to protect vulnerable individuals.
Work closely with health professionals families and partner agencies to deliver integrated multi-agency support.
Provide professional advice and mentoring to less experienced staff as required.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation procedures and codes of practice.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation using the local case management system.
Skills/Experience:
Extensive experience in statutory adult social care settings particularly in Localities Teams.
Strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 Mental Capacity Act and relevant safeguarding legislation.
Proven ability to manage complex caseloads independently and confidently.
Effective communication negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Competent in using electronic case recording systems and standard IT applications.
Ability to work under pressure meet deadlines and contribute to team performance.
Additional Information:
Qualified Social Worker with active Social Work England registration.
Extensive experience in statutory adult social care settings, particularly in Localities Teams. Strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and relevant safeguarding legislation. Proven ability to manage complex caseloads independently and confidently. Effective communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Competent in using electronic case recording systems and standard IT applications. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and contribute to team performance.
Education
Social Work England registration (social work qualification required).
