As a Software Developer you will contribute to the development and maintenance of the software that powers our flagship optical sorting application which sorts tens of thousands of fruit per minute in a real-time industrial setting using computer vision and AI. Reporting to the Software & AI Lead you will collaborate closely with our Application Engineersprofessionals who work directly with customers to validate software changes and ensure our solutions address real-world needs. In this global R&D role you will also support our regional service teams by equipping them with the tools and knowledge required to maintain and optimize systems in the field.
About the role:
Development
- Write clean efficient and maintainable code.
- Assist in producing detailed designs that meet requirements.
- Create tools to instrument and monitor systems as needed.
- Contribute to technical decisions and requirements.
- Make accurate time estimates and deliver on those estimates.
- Develop an understanding of customer needs and industry trends.
- Support cross-functional engineering projects.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and best practices.
- Implement comprehensive testing plans to assess and improve product developments.
- Follow our software development processes.
- Continuously improve existing products and find ways to enhance work and cost efficiency.
- Provide technical support for customers and TOMRA employees working constructively with customers directly as well as service departments and other design teams.
- Participate in occasional site visits domestically and internationally to support and test new and existing products or designs.
Software Technical
- Assist in designing and developing software for our high-performance fruit grading products primarily using C and C#.
- Help create and enhance software applications for our high-performance machines including dashboards reports and other customer-centric tools.
- Maintain and optimize tooling such as CI/CD infrastructure and code repositories to ensure efficient development workflows.

About you:

- 0-2 years preferably in the industry automation machinery or engineering sectors.
- Fluent in spoken and written English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
- Programming Languages: C C# C Python Javascript.
- Frameworks and Libraries: .NET MFC WPF Blazor Qt PyTorch React OpenCV.
- Operating Systems: Windows Linux
- Cloud Services: Microsoft Azure (Azure DevOps Azure Machine Learning ACA etc)
- Development Tools: Visual Studio Git Docker
- CI/CD: Gitlab Teamcity GitHub Azure DevOps Pipelines.
- Database Technologies: SQL Server Postgresql
- Version Control: Git Gitlab Github Azure Repos.
- Project Management: Targetprocess Azure Devops Agile NPD and Stage gate.
- Testing Tools: gtest NUnit.
- Minimum of a Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
Travel:
- Ability to work in an open office environment as well as industrial customer worksites.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 1 4 weeks a year.
