General ResponsibilitiesThis position will be a part of the first teaching cohort to kick-off the SW WA Rural CTE Cooperative. This innovative model is one of the first of its kind to offer hybrid instruction in Career Technical education to students across multiple school districts. This position is grant funded and contingent on ongoing funding beyond a one-year appointment. The primary goal of the early childhood education course is to encourage a diverse pool of high school students with exemplary interpersonal leadership skills to consider education as a career. The program will provide SW Washington high school students with insights into the nature of early childhood development and teaching the challenges of schooling and the critical issues affecting the quality of rural & urban early childhood education in Washington schools. This course is delivered primarily online with quarterly in-person visits to students or program sites in SW Washington. The early childhood education teacher will provide instruction on the skills needed to obtain certification in the teaching field as well as preparation for the Initial ECE certification and supervision of the practicum component of the coursework.
Assignment/Location:This position will be part-time .2 FTE (1.5 hours per day 185 days per year). It will be hybrid working at ESD 112 in Vancouver WA and remote with frequent travel throughout the ESD 112 region.
Salary Information:The annual salary range for this position is $10691.00 - $18293.40. Salary placement is based on education and experience.
Essential Functions/Other FunctionsEssential Functions:- Effectively use culturally responsive and asset-based teaching methods in an effort to eliminate the opportunity gap in education and manage student behavior by establishing policy and procedures.
- Facilitate active learning instruction to students through planning and preparation to lecture model and use technology and other materials to engage learning and differentiate instruction in a blended/online learning environment.
- Prepare and communicate clearly course objectives learning activities and outline for course of study following frameworks and curriculum guidelines requirements of state industry and schools.
- Collaborate with students colleagues and parents to communicate necessary information regularly regarding student progress and student needs utilizing district software and other tools for mandated record keeping and reporting.
- Support CTE director/coordinator in maintaining course and program requirements including participating in faculty and professional development educational conferences and teacher training workshops to maintain appropriate certifications.
Other Functions:- Willingness to accept extra-curricular assignments including student leadership organizations such as FBLA. SkillsUSA DECA HOSA etc.
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with district schools and business partners to provide students with work-based learning opportunities.
- Collaborate with building leaders and other partners to leverage existing supports.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Qualifications:- Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education with appropriate CTE Certification OR 2000 hours industry-related experience & ability to obtain CTE certification OR Bachelors Degree in Industry-related field with 6000 hours documented
- Ability to design instruction around industry experience with real-life applications such as Project-based learning.
- Three years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education.
- Demonstrated proficiency with one year of experience using ZOOM Canvas Google Classroom and other learning management systems in a live virtual classroom or other learning setting.
Preferred Qualifications:- Demonstrated experience and/or training in current techniques and skills in teaching secondary level students.
- Teaching experience in a rural school; teaching experience with high school students.

Employment Requirements:- Successful completion of a criminal history background check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
