Job Description
Amazon Devices is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineer high-profile devices like the Kindle family of products Fire Tablets Fire TV Health Wellness Amazon Echo & Astro products. This is an exciting opportunity to join Amazon in developing state-of-the-art techniques that bring Gen AI on edge for our consumer products. We are looking for exceptional Science Manager to join our Applied Science team and help develop the next generation of edge models and optimize them while doing co-designed with custom ML HW based on a revolutionary architecture. Key job responsibilities
* Manage a team of 5 scientists working on quantize prune distill finetune Gen AI models to optimize for edge platforms
* Create 3 year science roadmap in domain of edge intelligence
* Focus on rapid maturization of science to build products and integrate it with Echo Family of device
* Work with stakeholders and partners to defining Roles and Responsibilies
* Fundamentally understand Amazons underlying Neural Edge Engine to invent optimization techniques
* Strong understanding of first principles of Information Theory Scientific Computing Deep Learning Theory Non Equilibrium Thermodynamics
* Managing teams that were involved in training (preferably pretraining) Gen AI models
* Foster collaboration with compiler team fellow Applied Scientists in Finetuning team Hardware Architects and product teams to build the best ML-centric solutions for our devices
* Help team publish in open source and present on Amazons behalf at key ML conferences - NeurIPS ICLR MLSys.
- 3 years of scientists or machine learning engineers management experience
- Knowledge of ML NLP Information Retrieval and Analytics
- Knowledge of machine learning approaches and algorithms
- Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application
- Experience building complex software systems especially involving deep learning machine learning and computer vision that have been successfully delivered to customers
- PhD
