Five9 is seeking a Sales Tax/Indirect Tax Analyst located in India to support the U.S. Tax Team. Tax experience is a plus but not mandatory for this role. This position is based out of one of the offices of our affiliate Acqueon Technologies in India and will adopt the hybrid work arrangements of that location. You will be a member of the Acqueon team with responsibilities supporting Five9 products collaborating with global teammates based primarily in the United States.
Job Responsibilities:
- Under supervision of U.S tax team review Sales and Telecom tax returns prepared by external service provider.
- Assist in reconciling the filed returns to the General Ledger.
- Responsible for Tax Exemption Certificate maintenance process relating to exempt/reseller customers.
- Research and resolve state and local notices related to Sales Tax/Indirect tax filings.
- Assist with sales tax audits.
- Support U.S. Tax Team with preparation of internally prepared tax returns.
- Other ad hoc tax-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
- 2-3 years relevant experience.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Willingness to learn about Five9s business and products and application of sales or telecom taxes to such.
- Ability to work effectively while remote with limited supervision.
- Willingness to work at least 50% of work day on U.S. (California) time.
- General understanding of accounting principles including general ledgers trial balances and journal entries.
Desirable Skills:
- Tax experience local or foreign a plus.
- Experience with NetSuite and/or Avalara.
