L2 IT Services Technician



Job Overview



Archetype SC Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Level 2 IT Services Technician to join our team. You will work in small business and enterprise environments with a wide range of networks and security technologies. These include firewalls VPN endpoint security proxies IDS/IPS SIEMs and more.


As a Level 2 IT Services Technician you will handle more complex tasks and projects mentor junior team members and assist with designing and implementing network infrastructure. This position requires demonstrated experience in network engineering and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.


Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to incidents and requests from multiple ticketing systems for a variety of products
  • Triage tickets to technicians based upon observed skillset specialities
  • Serve as an escalation point for incoming tickets ensuring timely resolution of complex or high-priority issues
  • Troubleshoot manage and resolve escalated technical issues
  • Implement and manage network security tools such as firewalls VPNs and endpoint security
  • Assist in the design and architecture of secure network solutions for clients
  • Monitor and optimize network performance using advanced tools
  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot security infrastructure
  • Mentor and guide junior team members
  • Collaborate with the IT Manager and Triage team to create schedule and monitor projects supporting efficient and effective project delivery
  • Contribute to and improve documentation participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions and thoroughly log all work performed
  • Provide excellent written communication including reports incident reports emails and other required documentation
  • Other tasks as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • 2 years of professional IT experience in a help desk network support/engineering or other hands-on role.
  • Industry certifications including a minimum of Security and Network
  • Proficiency in Office Azure / Entra and Windows products
  • Demonstrated ability to configure and troubleshoot firewalls switches and other network hardware
  • Familiarity with IAM including Active Directory MFA and other associated technologies
  • The desire for growth and commitment to obtaining valuable certifications
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Positive and professional demeanor
  • Strong customer service skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure AWS or other cloud providers (specifically security tools)
  • Familiarity with network management and monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of SIEMs IDS/IPS or vulnerability management systems
  • Experience in designing and implementing network architectures
  • Advanced Industry Certifications
  • MSP or Support Desk experience
