The Opportunity

Are you ready to lead innovation in transformer control systems At Hitachi Energy were seeking a Senior Electrical Controls Engineer to join our expert team in Alamo. This is a high-impact role where your technical expertise will drive the development of advanced control solutions for transformer components. Youll work on complex engineering challenges lead cross-functional initiatives and contribute to projects that power a more sustainable energy future. How Youll Make an Impact

  • Design and evaluate advanced electrical systems products and components.

  • Develop complex models and simulations using cutting-edge tools and techniques.

  • Lead engineering investigations and provide actionable recommendations.

  • Prepare technical documentation including BOMs schematics and proposals.

  • Analyze customer requirements and contribute to innovative product solutions.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.

  • Drive continuous improvement in product design and performance.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field with 58 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong understanding of SCADA IEC 61850 and control/automation systems.

  • Experience with control device programming testing and troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD CREO and E3; PLM tools like Windchill are a plus.

  • Background in transformer substation control and protection is highly valued.

  • Solid knowledge of engineering principles standards and best practices.
