OurProduct Support and Logistics Division (PSLD)is one of the most innovative divisions within PSLD as within all of Caterpillar our priority is ourcustomers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly everyelement of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts Integrated Logistics segment Procurementand thedesign andmanufactureof WearComponents(Undercarriage and GET) andMaintenance Components(Seals Tubes & Hardware Hose & Couplings Fluids and Filters).
As an Facilities Engineer you will provide maintenance installation and consulting support for building and infrastructure requirements of an Aftermarket Parts Distribution Center.
Projects are specific to new building construction existing building expansion renovation of existing facilities sustainability improvements building systems modernization improvement or regulatory compliance updates and building related improvements (fire protection floor preparations lighting etc) to support implementation of automated and/or conventional storage and material handling systems.
A Facilities Engineer needs a fundamental understanding about warehousing logistics and how it impacts building design elements such as building clear height floor loading capacity electrical demand requirements etc. In addition to technical skills a Facilities Engineer must demonstrate intermediate to strong skilled levels of the following competencies: integrity & trust; building inclusive relationships; customer focus; problem solving; priority setting; and dealing with uncertainty.
Although the requirements above describe most of the responsibilities of the position due to the breadth of challenges that arise on projects it is sometimes expected that a Facilities Engineer will take on other responsibilities outside of this job description.

What You Will Do:
To be successful a Facilities Engineer must utilize technical and soft skills along with effective communication to lead and / or support the following type of activities:
Site development supplier selection
Technical review of the supplier solution
Engineering design specifications for the project i.e. mechanical electrical plumbing structural and architectural. Examples of these activities include floor loading requirements building bay spacing roofing systems HVAC systems building electrical requirements etc.
Fire and life safety solutions that meet local building code and property insurance carrier requirements.
Basic understanding of Primary and Secondary Power electrical distribution system
Sustainable building practices and solutions
Understanding of building construction regulations
What You Have (Basic Requirements):
Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand monitor update control or enhance existing business or work processes.
Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches tools techniques for recognizing anticipating and resolving organizational operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan organize monitor and control projects ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Facilities Management: Knowledge of safety measures for physical facilities; ability to maintain care for and develop commercial and physical facilities.
Emergency Management: Knowledge of emergency management tools and techniques in a manufacturing organization; ability to prepare for mitigate respond to and recover from an emergency.
Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches tools and techniques; ability to anticipate detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Qualifications):
Willingness to travel up to 50% of work time to domestic and international locations
5 years of construction industry experience
Strong PC Skills (Microsoft applications - Excel PowerPoint Word & AutoCAD)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in warehouse planning and design supply chain or manufacturing logistics

Summary Pay Range:
$126000.00 - $189000.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
