Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

At the heart of Pfizers Digital hosting and application development strategy sits the Cloud and Network Security Services (CNSS) organization. Enabling all manner of digital infrastructure and cloud development capabilities these services and products permeate across Pfizer influencing business outcomes and providing value to our business shareholders and patients every day.

The Data Center and Hybrid Cloud Technology Lead has ultimate accountability for the strategy development lifecycle management delivery cost and efficacy of Pfizers Data Center and Hybrid cloud services. The role will have direct ownership in establishing a secure compliant productive and innovative hosting environment. This role will have direct accountability over how Pfizer Digital consumes and utilizes data center and hybrid cloud hosting technologies in support of all business lines on a global scale.

This role will lead and own the development of data center and hybrid cloud capabilities define engineering standards and create a positive engineering focused environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of managing teams cultivating leaders and bring a mix of technology finance and people management skills.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive engineering and execution excellence in data center hosting technology including virtualized infrastructure SAN storage and unstructured NAS across Pfizers 50 hosting locations and applicable cloud regions.

  • Lead a cross functional global engineering and service development team while creating enduring internal engineering and development standards.

  • Bring expert level knowledge and experience in leading program level technology implementation within a hybrid cloud hosting environment.

  • Set and manage the overall strategy for Pfizers data center hosting and hybrid cloud technology.

  • Prioritize strategic and sustaining engineering work across a multi-disciplined engineering team while driving a culture of automation and toil reduction.

  • Effectively manage the data center and hybrid cloud specific P&L budget including strategies to drive efficiencies across the portfolio while ensuring customers are billed for all consumption.

  • Set strategic vision for the data center and hybrid cloud services based on an understanding of customers goals group priorities the portfolio of products and services offered and their evolving underlying technologies.

  • Manage external partnerships with key service providers and strategic partners to ensure consistent delivery of services.

  • Promote ideas and innovations by taking measured risks and articulating the vision and plan to achieve desired outcomes such as improving performance efficacy cost efficiency and ease-of-use.

BASICQUALIFICATIONS

  • BA Degree in Information Technology Computer Science Computer Engineering or a similar discipline and 8 years of experience in an enterprise IT setting preferably one in a highly regulated industry such as banking/financial or healthcare/pharmaceutical.

  • Expert-level knowledge of and experience with Data Center hosting and associated technologies across virtual converged storage and unstructured data platforms.

  • Excellent communicator with an ability to influence horizontally and vertically across a large complex and matrixed organization. Adept at managing through often difficult and conflicting priorities to identify those outcomes with the greatest value for Pfizer.

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing a department-level P&L inclusive of forecasting/budgeting identifying & prosecuting cost efficiency opportunities and managing spend through the fiscal period.

  • Strong general IT knowledge with a background working directly with customers to drive Digital outcomes at a departmental or division level

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • SME level experience in managing global data center hosting services

  • Demonstrated experience in leading high-performance engineering and developments teams

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Cross organizational management skills. Ability to spend significant time utilizing Pfizer productivity systems.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Travel required 5% or less yearly

Off hours work may be required to support deployments or troubleshooting events

Work Location Assignment:Must be able to work in assigned Pfizer office 2-3 days per week or as needed by the business

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $169700.00 to $282900.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
