Primary Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities Purpose of Job: Works under the supervision of Health Science faculty and professionals to gain an experience in healthcare settings community health outreach or wellness education programs. This position will involve hands on learning in patient care health promotion and administrative tasks related to healthcare services. Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in data collection patient intake and health assessments. Organize and categorize health-related research or patient educational materials. Support health education initiatives wellness workshops or community outreach programs. Work with professionals to provide educational outreach activities related to public health fitness and disease prevention. Other duties as assigned. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times. Supervision: Direct supervision from Taj Muratori for day to day instruction. Other duties will be delegated by Health Science Faculty. Various faculty will also act as the Faculty Mentor within the Lobos LEAD Program. At least one self-performance evaluation and supervisor performance evaluation to be conducted at least once per appointment cycle. Lobos LEAD Program: The mission of Lobos LEAD is to provide students of Sul Ross State University the opportunity to take on leadership roles and employment opportunities that will translate into real world marketable skills career preparation and personal success. Initial pilot funding provided by the Title III LoboTrack to Success in STEM ( LTS ) grant an initiative to engage the talent motivation energy and aspirations from within our university community to address the identified national imperative to attract retain and graduate increased numbers of Hispanic and low-income students.
