POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director the Coordinator assists with the coordination and support of K-12 district-wide counseling services delivered in each building. This position requires knowledge of District Regulations and procedures the ability to assume responsibility and work effectively under pressure while maintaining confidentiality and the demonstration of strong interpersonal skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Supervise K-12 counseling programs and staff as assigned.
Support the development and implementation of a district-wide comprehensive school counseling program (CSCP) including but not limited to: - Co-leading the district CSCP Committee
- Facilitating monthly professional learning and collaboration across each level
- Ongoing program implementation monitoring and communication
- Develops plans for an implements data collection and analysis of program effectiveness in order to provide regular feedback to stakeholders
- Ongoing communication of CSCP progress to stakeholders (school counselors building admin district admin and community)
Assist with coordination and provision of the Counseling and Student Well-Being Department by maintaining ongoing communication with District administrators community health practitioners and participating in the appropriate regional and state with school counseling teams administrators and other staff on related topics of credits graduation requirements and orientation and ongoing support for new counselors in the district (i.e. professional learning schedules district protocols etc.).Provide on-site coaching for school counselors including counselors new to the district around counselor resources and systems as the Director in developing the program budget and procedures which ensure that the district is in compliance with state and federal requirements plan for short- and long-term program needs. Assist the Director in identifying staffing requirements of counseling and guidance programs for certificated and classified staff based on student enrollment; recruit and recommend the selection and assignment of program the District 504 Coordinator in monitoring compliance coordinating responses and providing training to with the Director to deliver coordinated district and building services to students through the counseling offices support appropriate staff training and act as an advocate for families for District services including those who qualify for McKinney-Vento Foster Care Home Hospital and other support services.- Provide leadership and support the coordination for the districts comprehensive school counseling program ensuring alignment with the Districts coordinated plan and support for career awareness through Career and Technical Education.
- Identify staff needs for in-service and arrange for or provide appropriate in-service training for staff.
- Actively participate in facilitate and organize regular staff meetings for those in Counseling Services to ensure the efficacious delivery of the continuum of services.
- Provide support for district crisis response efforts including contributing to the development and implementation of crisis management and recovery plans.
- Monitor offer content for and provide feedback on schools counseling website and communications.
- Collects analyzes and synthesizes student data to develop and maintain accurate transition documents; provides updated guidance and resources to support school counselors in providing transition materials as students progress between school levels.
- Support preparation of reports as required by district OSPI and other agencies.
- Maintains complex and confidential electronic and physical files and records in accordance with the appropriate records retention timelines.
- Attend staff and other professional meetings as may be assigned or necessary.
- Continue professional growth of method and technique improvements.
- Demonstrate positive relationship skills with district staff maintaining ongoing and open communication.
- Use technology for communication presentations trainings workload management and workshops.
- Possess knowledge of and adhere to Governing Policies and District Regulations and Procedures.
- Participate in special projects as assigned and perform related duties and key responsibilities consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION: Masters degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in School Counseling or related field or educational leadership.
EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 5 years successful school counseling experience at the high school level or 7 years middle or elementary school counseling. Prior experience coaching and training adult learners. Further the individual will possess the:

- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a pleasant tactful and professional manner.
- Ability to research analyze and interpret data rules and regulations codes statutes and laws.
- Ability to exercise independent decision-making abilities organize and manage multiple time sensitive tasks and facilitate resolution of difficult and/or delicate parent staff and community issues.
CONTINUING EDUCATION/TRAINING: Maintaining knowledge as current of ASCA standards and graduation requirements as well as that which is required to be effective in the position and to maintain certification.
