Job Title: Specialist Software Engineering (DSP)

Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days totaling 80 hours worked and have every other Friday off

Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer to join our dynamic team.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in signal processing and practical experience in designing implementing and optimizing DSP algorithms for various applications. As a DSP Engineer you will work on cutting-edge projects that involve the development of innovative solutions for processing and analyzing digital signals in real-time.

Essential Functions:

  • Design develop and implement of advanced DSP algorithms for various applications including audio and data communications processing.
  • Optimize DSP algorithms for performance power consumption and memory usage on various hardware platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers software developers and system architects to integrate DSP solutions into products.
  • Conduct simulations and performance analysis to validate and refine DSP algorithms.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in DSP technology and apply new techniques and methodologies to improve existing solutions.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of DSP solutions and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Ability to Obtain a US Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related experience in Embedded Software or DSP.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems design.
  • Development experience with the Linux OS
  • Proficiency with C C
  • Proficiency with multi-threaded multi-core design and/or real-time operating systems
  • Experience with object-oriented design
  • Understanding of Design Implementation and Testing of large software systems
  • Experience with software emulators/debuggers
  • Experience with Git/Bitbucket JIRA
  • Experience with the Agile Methodology
  • Creativity in problem solving.
