Reporting to the Senior Director International Admissions & Partnerships the International Student Services Advisor is responsible for maintaining knowledge of F1 regulations US visa processes and travel guidance while consistently enrolling registering and maintaining relationships with potential international students to provide them with an excellent experience.

This position is hybrid in San Francisco CA. Candidates must be able to work on-site a few times per week and provide superior service to International students.

    Responsibilities:

    • Act as a Designated School Official.
    • Advise international students experiencing academic and cultural adjustment issues.
    • Maintain and develop international student files and prepare supporting documents.
    • Monitor status of international students and ensure compliance with DHS regulations for full-time study and travel endorsements.
    • Monitor classroom attendance and ensure appropriate compliance and outreach when needed.
    • Advise F1 students on Practical Training programs review and process documents to obtain off campus work authorizations.
    • Responsible for information and authorization process and tracking of on campus employment as well as communication with students and applicable departments (Housing; Dining Services; HR)
    • Advise F1 students on transfer process.
    • Support the International Student Services team and manager.
    • Work closely with Student Services Admissions and Educational Services/Support Departments to support students and provide guidance regarding F1 regulations
    • Advise international students experiencing academic and cultural adjustment issues.
    • Maintain and develop international student files and prepare supporting documents.
    • Monitor status of international students and ensure compliance with DHS regulations for full-time study and travel endorsements.
    • Monitor classroom attendance and ensure appropriate compliance and outreach.
    • Work closely with Student Services OTR AR Admissions and Educational Services Departments to support students and provide guidance within F1 regulations.
    • Assist students in solving status related questions (i.e. change of status reinstatement of status).
    • Prepare and assist international students in obtaining off campus work authorizations.

    Qualifications:

    • Fluency in Hindi Bengali Spanish or Mandarin preferred
    • Bachelors Degree preferred
    • Experience working with International students/student visas preferred
    • Strong time management and organizational skills
    • Excellent verbal/ written communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with prospective students
    • Must be able to present Academy of Art University policies and curriculum in an accurate compliant and professional manner
    • Ability to work independently and demonstrate strategic problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet challenges head-on
    • PeopleSoft and SalesForce experience a plus

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday and Saturdays as needed

    Compensation:

    $68640.00
