ConnectSydney are on the hunt for a new Project Manager to oversee our Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)!
ConnectSydney a dynamic joint venture between Service Stream Boral and Johnson Controls will be delivering the Sydney Road Assets Performance Contract for the Harbour Zone in metropolitan Sydney. We are looking for talented motivated and driven individuals to join the team who will be committed to delivering innovative customer-focused and sustainable outcomes whilst also establishing a positive legacy for our customers and community.
Sydney hosts a multitude and variety of events which can impact on the effective operation of the road and transport network needs to be effectively planned and managed. The Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the formation; documentation and estimation of work methodology pertain to the maintenance or construction of road infrastructure structural corridor tunnel and Intelligent Transport System (ITS) projects. Additionally the position will be called upon from time to time to oversee site maintenance activities and oversee new and upgrade works.
Key Responsibilities
As Project Manager - Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) you will be responsible for planning executing and overseeing projects from initiation to completion. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the development of plans detailing maintenance and new works methodologies for specific ITS maintenance activities as well as ITS tactical and special projects.
- Lead the preparation of comprehensive project scopes including design coordination scheduling work methodologies risk assessments quality management and budget estimates
- Conduct project estimation and forecasting processes leveraging analytical skills and industry best practices to develop accurate budgets resource plans and timelines that support strategic decision-making and project success.
- Undertake the preparation of business tender documents and ensure they are undertaken in a way that protects the company interests.
- Review develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency of project delivery safety and field operations
- Be involved in the development and implementation of bid strategies.
- Contribute toward the continuous improvement of all aspects of our business systems policies and procedures.
- As assigned oversee site works involving maintenance and field project works and project delivery.
- Ensure projects are delivered to the agreed scope schedule and budget and as per the relevant specifications and Australian standards.
- Oversee all assigned contract activities to ensure project and operational objectives are achieved implementing preventive and corrective actions as necessary.
- Oversee the management and administration of assigned subcontractors and suppliers to ensure work is executed to client satisfaction and in compliance with agreed specifications terms conditions and budget.
- Monitor project progress and forecasts and prepare monthly reports covering cost schedule safety environmental impact and future financial projections. Promptly report any events and cost changes that may significantly alter previously established forecasts.
- Manage the performance of all reporting staff including the establishment of clear responsibilities and authorities in accordance with ConnectSydney performance review procedures.
- Ensure all safety quality environmental community and sustainability requirements are met as part of the development and delivery of project delivery.
- Ensure all environmental community and safety permits from stakeholders and any other required approvals are always in place and valid during project delivery.
- Manage the project schedule for on-site delivery with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and submit all project deliverables and handover package.
- Conduct on-site inspections during both day and night shifts and report key safe practices as well as at-risk observations
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Civil Mechanical or Electrical) or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated strong experience (3 years) in project management experience - ITS experience desirable
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office suit MS Project.
- Ability to work within a team.
- Results-driven ability to meet strict deadlines.
