Join our team as Grants Manager dedicated to our Solar For All initiative and help deliver meaningful measurable impact to communities.

Reporting to the Deputy Program Director youll steward every stage of our Solar For All - CHARGE (Communities Helping America Renew and Grow the Economy) grant-making cyclefrom application review through project close-outfor community-serving solar developments across multiple states. Youll translate federal requirements into clear guidance for awardees keep complex construction schedules and budgets on track and partner with Legal and Finance to ensure impeccable compliance reporting accuracy and on-time payments.


Success in this role requires a blend of rigorous project management federal grant fluency and relationship-building savvy. Youll juggle dozens of projects simultaneously spot risks before they escalate and coach grantee partners so that every funded installation delivers maximum impact for the households and communities we serve.

As a U.S. EPA Solar for All awardee CEFTX leads the CHARGE initiative across a multi-state region. Through CHARGE were partnering with higher education institutions - especially Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs) - local contractors and grassroots organizations to build solar projects that reflect community priorities and deliver lasting change. From energy savings and emissions reduction to workforce development and STEM education CHARGE isnt just about powering homesits about powering opportunity.


In this role youll primarily be responsible for

Project Management & Oversight

  • Serve as primary point of contact for applicants awardees contractors and other stakeholders to communicate program requirements provide technical guidance verify and communicate project progress address issues and resolve conflicts.
  • Monitor the progress of community solar projects through our three-phased award process ensuring that grant activities are completed on time within budget and in accordance with all applicable program requirements and regulations.
  • Develop and implement project schedules track progress and manage risks.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to project awardees and their contractors to ensure compliance with federal grant requirements and best practices.

Grants Administration

  • Facilitate the grantmaking workflow keeping all stakeholders apprised of scheduled deadlines and process changes.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to address grant-related issues and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Receive and enter grants data into grants management and online filing systems and ensure integrity of data in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and with the organizations own processes and requirements.
  • Work with the Deputy Director to develop or revise applications and grantee report formats to ensure data can be tracked in grants management software.
  • Oversee standard terms and conditions for grant award letters agreements and contracts and collaborate with the Legal team as needed. Provide clear and concise grants administration policies and procedures for project applicants and awardees.
  • Provide links between program staff and consultants and internal teams so that all grant management activities are smoothly implemented.
  • Conduct ongoing grants administration and research including analyses of grant reports and trends.
  • Conduct due diligence of grantees including reviewing all applications for red flags around legal requirements
  • Work with the finance team to schedule wire transfers within the online banking system and communicate payment information and verification to grant recipients.

Program Support

  • Produce reports on grants information including data visualizations and analyses as requested for program management reports to leadership or the CEFTX Board external stakeholders and oversight entities
  • Solicit and receive grant reports log reports in system and link to database.
  • In coordination with senior staff and consultants participate in efforts to improve and iterate upon grants management system and processes.
  • Serve as the point of contact for as-needed grant data requests and projects including producing reports on the organizations grantmaking and producing data visualizations.
  • Provide analyses data reports and other materials for internal and external program purposes including but not limited to the impact and reach of the program portfolios.
  • Maintain relationships in alignment with the strategy at CEFTX through relationship building; act as a connector for staff to organize spaces that further the organizations vision.

Core Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience managing government-funded grants including compliance reporting or subaward oversight
  • Familiarity with 2 CFR 200 and other federal grant standards
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with precision and follow-through
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships with grantees and partners
  • Collaborative mindset and commitment to high-quality client service for grantees
  • Experience working with grants management systems or CRMs
  • Passion for clean energy and a commitment to advancing sustainability and environmental stewardship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Environmental Science Energy Policy or related field
  • Direct experience with EPA grant programs
  • Direct experience with solar-energy deployment
  • Working knowledge of energy-market rules pricing and competition.


What we offer

The expected annual salary range for this position is $85000-$95000 commensurate with qualifications and location. We offer competitive benefits including 100% comprehensive health care coverage for employees (medical dental and vision) at least 75% employer contribution toward health care coverage for dependents; work-from-home reimbursements (internet phone office set up) up to 3% employer match to 401K 14 paid holidays plus 3 weeks of vacation 5 sick days and paid parental and caregiver leaves.


This role is a remote opportunity with a strong preference for candidates based in Texas Louisiana or Washington D.C. particularly those with experience in or connection to the communities we serve. Exceptional candidates in other states may be considered based on alignment with the roles responsibilities and our mission. Occasional travel may be required for meetings conferences and other external engagements.


CEFTX intends to fill two grants manager positions which are fully funded by CEFTXs EPA Solar for All grant. While we expect the Grants Manager roles to be needed for the full life of the grantand are actively pursuing additional resources to extend the workcontinued employment is contingent upon the availability of grant funds and evolving program priorities.
