The Claims Representative is responsible for reviewing analyzing and processing first-party homeowner and dwelling property claims across multiple states and assists with Florida claims handling when needed. They assess the extent of insurance liability conduct thorough investigations and make coverage and loss decisions according to policy provisions and applicable laws. The role involves providing exceptional customer service to policyholders while ensuring accurate documentation and communication throughout the claims process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and analyze first-party homeowners claims to determine insurance carrier liability.
Conduct thorough claim investigations including obtaining physical evidence and developing theories of liability.
Evaluate damaged property and recommend appropriate settlements or denials.
Communicate findings verbally and in written reports to policyholders and supervisors.
Maintain detailed documentation and file notes in accordance with company guidelines.
Collaborate with internal and external resources such as adjusters experts and consultants as needed.
Recognize and submit subrogation underwriting and fraud referrals as necessary.
Provide prompt and professional customer service via phone email and mail.
Ensure compliance with customer service objectives and company guidelines.
Mentor and assist in training employees and vendors involved in claim investigations as needed.

EDUCATION
Bachelors Degree or higher required.
Equivalent experience may substitute for minimum educational requirements. Equivalent experience may include three (3) years of relevant experience.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of one (1) year of related property adjusting experience required.
Knowledge of insurance principles loss adjustment estimating software and residential construction preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS
Successful completion of claims-related education or industry coursework preferred.
LICENSES
Ability to obtain and maintain licensure in Alabama Arizona Arkansas Florida Georgia Indiana Kentucky Louisiana Michigan Mississippi North Carolina Pennsylvania South Carolina and Texas required within 30 days of hire.
