What Youll Do

The UPF Engineering Turnover Lead supports the UPF Design Authority Director to ensure that all of the Engineering design products and system and process engineering deliverables are progressing per schedules to support turnover and readiness of UPF systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintains UPF Schedule for UPF Design Authority to ensure an accurate forecast schedule
  • Conducts organizational variance analysis of schedule and cost performance
  • Organize and analyze information to measure performance against cost/schedule forecast and baselines and initiate corrective actions as needed
  • Escalate and resolve issues that are delaying schedule tasks
  • Ensure that commissioning turnover checklists are maintained and updated regularly
  • Support Mission Engineering Design Authority management to resolve resource conflicts and workload issues
  • Work with other UPF commissioning organizations and Y-12 organizations to facilitate completion of work supporting readiness of UPF systems for operation
  • Participates as the UPF Test Review Board Administrator
  • Represent UPF Design Authority in verifying implementation of the UPF Fire Protection Program and Nuclear Safety controls

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and 5years of relevant experience OR a Masters degree and 3years of experience
  • Thirteenor more years of relevant education training and/or progressive experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting

Preferred Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in coordinating engineering effort
  • Excellent interpersonal communication (written and oral) and facilitation experience
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding engineering concepts
  • Experience with Records Management

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

This position may require entry into the Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (10 C.F.R. Part 712) which requires successful competition of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation and may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.

This position may be categorized as a designated position identified by 10 C.F.R. Part 709 requiring successful completion of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation that may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
