The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airlines is excited to offer opportunities for a Pressure Tester Hydraulic or Air to join our Fabrication team in Algona Auburn and Puyallup Washington.
As a Pressure Tester for Hydraulic or Air systems you will be at the forefront of ensuring the integrity and reliability of critical aerospace components. This exciting role allows you to engage with advanced testing technologies where your expertise will directly contribute to the safety and performance of our aircraft systems. You will conduct high-pressure tests meticulously inspecting fittings and tubing to identify any potential issues before they reach the production line. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will be essential as you work closely with a dedicated team to uphold the highest standards in aviation.

Position Responsibilities:
Check the incoming area for carts filled with tubes and ducts from shops that require pressure testing.
Examine work orders for test pressure quantity standard tools to be used and O-rings for ducts and tubes to be tested.
Verify that all test gauges are certified and current before conducting pressure tests.
Inspect the surface flanges of ducts and tubes for any dents scratches or gouges to ensure a proper seal during testing.
Maintain an inventory of standard tools and O-rings necessary for testing ducts and tubes.
Install appropriate equipment including standard tools clamps fittings plugs and O-rings onto duct assemblies using approved lubrication.
Operate power and hand tools for the installation and removal of tooling required for pressure testing.
Use an overhead crane located inside the testing booth to position ducts filled with water for testing.
Protect against spray and bursting of ducts and tubes by closing Plexiglas testing booth doors when testing above 400 p.s.i.
Verify and inspect the actual pressure test results checking for leakage and proceed to depressurization and disassembly of test equipment if no leakage is detected.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance on process monitoring audits and non-conformance documentation attaching rejection tags to assemblies as needed.
Dry ducts using an air hose or shop towel before installing protective rubber end caps to prevent damage to flanges after testing.
Document the completion of pressure tests on work orders and route them to the outgoing area or Quality Assurance.
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and using personal protective equipment.
Keep the testing area free of foreign object debris to maintain a safe working environment.
Perform high-pressure testing on fittings and tubing according to provided specifications stamping parts to indicate inspection.
Set parts to be pressure tested into the test equipment and apply the correct pressure.
Use water oil or soap to aid in determining leaks or cracks during inspections.
Make visual inspections to ensure conformance to quality standards throughout the testing process.
Read gauges and convert pressures as necessary to ensure accurate testing results.
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:
Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
Engage in various movements such as reaching handling turning twisting lifting lowering climbing balancing bending kneeling crouching and squatting.
Work in environments that may involve contact with metals solvents and coolants.
Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools sharp cutters and potential slipping hazards.
Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes hands/arms and feet while performing job duties.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen lawful permanent resident refugee or asylee

Basic Qualifications:
Basic Computer Experience and Competency
1 years of experience or training reading and interpreting drawings or blueprints
1 years of experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools
Ability to lift up to 35lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of experience or training reading and interpreting drawings or blueprints
Typical Education & Experience:
High school graduate or GED preferred.
