We are searching for a Learning and Development Specialist with a passion for Instructional Design to join our Learning and Development Team based in Halifax Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity

As the Learning and Development Specialist you will work closely with managers subject matter experts and the learning and development team to design develop and deliver engaging and interactive online content and supporting materials using a variety of tools. You will engage to support employees and managers in learning opportunities by:

• Determining learning objectives and outcomes using content
• Creating engaging learning activities and compelling course content
• Follows the ADDIE method for development and design
• Working with subject matter experts to identify target audiences training needs and establish measurable outcomes and impacts
• Uses a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach
• Researching best practices to implement current programs
• Ensures training material stays up to date
• Creating facilitator and participant guides resources and training materials
• Providing exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement collaboration and accountability you bring:

• A Bachelors degree in a related field
• A Certificate in Adult Education and/or Train the Trainer or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years experience in instructional design or educational design
• Minimum 5 years experience in content development
• Proficiency in Articulate Storyline and LMS implementation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Power Point Word and Excel Canva and Articulate Products and HTML editors
• Effective facilitation and presentation skills
• Ability to write and speak English is required French is considered an asset
