Job Description

We are currently seeking a Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) for our client a leading microfinance bank based in Lagos Nigeria. The CDPO will be responsible for ensuring the organization complies with data protection laws and regulations like GDPR. They will also monitor compliance advising on data protection matters and serving as a point of contact for data subjects and supervisory authorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance Monitoring and tracking the organisations adherence to data protection laws and regulations.
  • Create and implement data protection policies and procedures.
  • Identify and assess data protection risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.


Requirements

  • Three or more years of experience in data protection compliance or related field
  • Expertise in data protection laws and practices including deep understanding of GDPR
  • Experience in a legal audit or risk management role
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Bachelor degree / HND in a relevant field
