Job Description
In this Role You Will:
- Be a positive contributor to overall office and department goals culture and morale.
- Possess intermediate level computer skills necessary for daily activities including email word processing spreadsheets and simple graphics.
- Possess technical writing skills.
- Manage day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients utilizing experience and technology to meet expectations.
- Perform building and fire code analysis and code interpretations.
- Perform analysis of existing fire protection systems as well as designing new fire protection systems including suppression systems fire detection alarm and mass notification systems
- Perform research and documentation for internal and external distribution.
- Utilize AutoCAD and/or Revit to prepare fire protection system designs.
- Utilize FDS Pyrosim and CONTAM programs to execute performance-based design efforts.
- Develop project management skills for managing internal projects as well as external client needs
- Attend and participate in local and national professional organizations such as SFPE
Qualifications :
- BS degree in engineering or related science from accredited university
- Fire Protection specific degree desired
- Licensed California Professional Engineer (PE) desired
- 1 to 6 years of professional experience in the fire protection consulting profession
- Dependent upon the level of experience PE EIT or ability to obtain EIT.
- Experience with the current version of AutoCAD and Revit (preferred)
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Knowledge and experience with the International Building Code (IBC) and US design standards.
Compensation and Benefits
- Approximate Base Salary $75k-115k based on experience
- Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate
- Competitive end of year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance
- Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change)
- 401k with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching for 9% Employee Contribution
