Primary responsibilities involve providing technical support for clinicians and registered technicians in the RUVC and providing clinical assistance participating in the instruction and support of DVM students.
Responsibilities
Assist and support clinicians and registered technicians
Fear free handling and restraint of patients
Participate in instruction and support of DVM students
Venipuncture
Place IV catheters
Administer PO SQ IM and IV medication
Set up and use fluid pumps
Monitor hospitalised patients
Perform TPR
Assist with radiography and ultrasound
Assist with in house laboratory testing
Use diagnostic equipment e.g. Doppler EKG and multi-function monitors
Take canine patients for walks outside
Maintain clean environment
Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director and Head Technician of the RUVC.
Completes other duties as assigned.

Clean sterilise and organise surgical kits
Assist with surgical cases
Maintain a clean working environment
Cleaning and setting up kennels
Undertake cross training in other departments of RUSVM
Able to work out of hours shifts (night shifts weekends and holidays)
