An exciting opportunity exists to join the leadership team in our Recovery Department.

About the Role

We are currently seeking an energetic dynamic and innovative clinical nurse with a strong teamwork focus and exceptional customer service skills to join our leadership team in the Recovery Department.

A Clinical Nurse is an advanced level Registered Nurse who acts as a clinical and professional resource person demonstrating broad knowledge and clinical expertise in all facets of caring for the patient whilst demonstrating a high level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the clinical setting. The role will involve supervising and supporting staff within the unit whist ensuring the department is safe effective and follows best practice.

The Clinical Nurse contributes to and participates in the education of all clinical staff by being involved in department orientation in-servicing and clinical competence programs. The Clinical Nurse will also make a valuable contribution to the Hospital continuous improvement processes.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to further develop and grow their career in leadership. This role would require the successful applicant to practice as an advanced registered nurse and assist the Recovery Clinical Nurse Consultant in providing clinical support and guidance to all members of the Recovery Team.

About You

As per the Ramsay Health Care QLD Registered Nurses and Midwives Agreement.

Your ability to supervise lead direct and motivate staff to achieve outcomes and your well-developed planning prioritisation and time management skills are critical for this role. Further to this you will demonstrate a good work ethic that includes punctuality integrity respect for others and a commitment to professional practice.

Selection Criteria:

  • Relevant registration with AHPRA
  • A minimum of 5 years post registration experience including 2 years experience in PACU
  • Ability to plan and facilitate the management of patient flow within the unit and coordinate staff
  • Ability to act as a positive role model with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
  • A high level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the clinical setting
  • Understanding of the Clinical Nurse scope of practice
  • Ability to manage designated portfolio and display sound leadership skills
  • Preceptorship experience and a compassionate approach to mentoring staff
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience in accreditation processes clinical indicators and other quality projects
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs
  • Post-graduate qualifications in Perioperative Nursing or working towards
