Job Description

As a Junior Bookkeeper you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records supporting day-to-day accounting responsibilities across all entities and ensuring compliance with financial standards. This entry-level position is ideal for someone who is passionate about numbers eager to learn and looking to build a career in finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Recording Financial Transactions:

  • Document day-to-day financial transactions including accounts payable accounts receivable credit card expenses and other general ledger entries.
  • Ensure accuracy in recording transactions across various systems

Reconciliation and Monitoring:

  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to identify discrepancies.
  • Assist in reconciling sales taxes payroll taxes 401k and bank accounts at the end of each month.

Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial statements reports and summaries to support informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team to create and analyze financial reports.

Data Entry and Accuracy:

  • Enter data accurately and maintain records.
  • Perform partial checks of the posting process.

Software Proficiency:

  • Utilize spreadsheets and proprietary software for bookkeeping tasks.
  • Good with spreadsheets experienced in Microsoft Excel QuickBooks and basic accounting systems

Proficiency with Business Tools:

  • Comfortably navigate and utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and other tools relevant to business operations.
  • Familiarity with Job Costing: Having knowledge of job costing practices is advantageous.
  • Project Review and Support:
  • Assist in reviewing ongoing projects analyzing their income and costs.
  • Provide necessary supporting information to the Project Operations Accountant.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Bookkeeping Experience: Some exposure to bookkeeping tasks is preferred but not required.
  • Data Entry Skills: Proficiency in data entry and attention to detail.
  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with spreadsheets comfortable navigating different computer programs and continuously eager to learn more.
  • Organization Skills: Excellent attention to detail time management and communication skills
