The University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions (9-month annual support) at the assistant professor level in the Department of Fisheries with at least one position based in Fairbanks Alaska. UAF is Alaskas research university Americas Arctic university and a world leader in both Arctic and climate-change research. The successful applicants will enjoy opportunities for collaboration within CFOSs world-class high-latitude research programs in marine estuarine and freshwater ecosystems. The College offers a B.S. in Fisheries and Ocean Sciences a B.A. in Fisheries Minors in Marine Science and Fisheries Master of Marine Policy Master of Marine Studies and Blue MBA degree programs as well as M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Oceanography Marine Biology and Fisheries Coastal facilities include the Seward Marine Center the NOAA-UAF Kasitsna Bay Laboratory and the Lena Point Fisheries Facility co-located with the NOAA Ted Stevens Marine Research Institute. CFOS operates the 261-foot Global Class ice-capable research vessel Sikuliaq. The College has over 150 faculty researchers and staff more than 100 graduate students and a growing undergraduate degree program in fisheries and ocean sciences. The Department of Fisheries maintains a strong program that includes 13 tenured or tenure-track faculty two research faculty members and four other faculty with primary appointments outside of the fisheries program.
To thrive in this role candidates will be expected to lead vigorous Alaska-based research programs that involve undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. Candidates will also be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas of their expertise. We particularly encourage submissions from individuals with expertise in quantitative ecology and population dynamics modeling ecosystem-based fishery management and modeling socio-cultural dimensions of fisheries Indigenous fisheries and community-driven research environmental physiology and fisheries oceanography.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified applicants must have a Ph.D. in fisheries biology ecology anthropology or closely related field. Postdoctoral research experience is preferred. Applicants must be proficient in English have experience teaching at the university level and have a strong research and publication record.A valid drivers license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required.

Position Details:
At least one position will be based on the Troth Yedda campus in Fairbanks Alaska. These are full-time FLSA exempt tripartite tenure-track faculty positions complete with both a competitive salary (starting pay is DOE) andfull employee benefits package.
