Job Summary:
This role is for a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute care hospital. The technician will be responsible for the preparation and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment ensuring they are safe and ready for use in surgical and other medical procedures. The position requires adherence to strict sterilization protocols and a high level of attention to detail to maintain a sterile environment and prevent infection. Two years of experience is required.

Responsibilities:
- Preparing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Inspecting and cleaning instruments and equipment.
- Maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Adhering to strict infection control procedures.
- Packaging and labeling sterilized items.
- Operating and maintaining sterilization equipment.
- Documenting all sterilization procedures.
- Ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Two years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician (or similar role)
- Ability to follow strict protocols and maintain a sterile environment.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and equipment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Certification in Sterile Processing Technology (or similar certification)
Special Considerations:
- Rotating weekends are required.
- First-timers are not accepted for this position.
- On-call duty is not required.
- Free parking is provided.
- All RTO (Request to Offset) must be included at the time of application; approval will be based on the facilitys needs. The facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
Scheduling:
- Rotating weekends.
- Shift type and scheduling details will be discussed during the interview process. The facility does not accommodate block scheduling.
