As a Digital Editor for the new ICI RDI morning show youll be responsible for bringing the shows digital presence to life. Youll master the necessary tools and techniques to develop and adapt various show segments for the web. In this role youll work closely with the morning shows editorial and production teams as well as with other newsroom employees and digital news units.
Your responsibilities:
Adapt and creatively highlight morning show content across all digital platforms.
Update the shows webpage.
Develop and create new segments exclusively for digital platforms collaborating with show contributors.
Potentially create content on location with contributors.
Understand the nuances of different platforms by staying current with trends.
Engage with users and foster community interaction.
Maintain a strategic vision aligned with objectives set with the relevant teams.
Manage a publication calendar.
Analyze results make recommendations and adjust the strategy accordingly.
Please note that this assignment requires you to work irregular hours including early morning shifts on weekdays. Working hours are subject to change based on operational requirements.
Work is governed by CBC/Radio-Canada programming policies and Journalistic Standards and Practices.
Your profile:
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent
Three (3) years experience
Desirable skills:
Solid French writing skills and excellent command of written French
Extensive knowledge of digital platforms and social media with the ability to stay abreast of the latest trends conventions and references
Exceptional communication skills
Ability to be thorough and meticulous
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Solid organizational and time-management skills
Ability to adapt and prioritize
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to quickly become proficient in software relevant to your job focus (in-house CMS and video processing tools)
Strong proficiency in Adobe Suite editing software (Premiere Pro After Effects)
Ability to understand user needs and behaviours and come up with visibility strategies
Ability to conduct technological monitoring and provide recommendations
Good understanding of Radio-Canadas strategic directions
