Job Overview

As a Senior Analyst Cost Planning Cannabis Operations you will be instrumental in upholding our organizations financial precision and stability. Your responsibilities encompass tasks such as ensuring accurate inventory records reconciling accounts and maintaining the integrity of our financial systems. You will also closely monitor manufacturing variances participate in estimating the costs for new projects and analyze operational expenses. Your proficiency in managing diverse financial tasks is fundamental to our financial success. Please refer to the following for a comprehensive list of roles and responsibilities including those listed below and potentially encompassing additional ad-hoc tasks.

Role and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure accurate inventory costing across materials labor machinery and overhead.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs reconcile inventory accounts and maintain cost accounting systems.
  • Track and report monthly manufacturing variances (material labor yield).
  • Configure ERP systems including cost standards work centers and routings.
  • Collaborate on new product cost estimates; analyze and explain variances.
  • Lead month-end inventory reporting and participate in physical inventory counts.
  • Support quarterly external audits and ensure compliance with reporting standards.
  • Assist with general accounting tasks and month-end close processes as needed.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 2-5 years experience in a cost accounting role ideally in a manufacturing setting; public company experience an asset.
  • Bachelors Degree/Diploma in Finance/Accounting/Commerce or equivalent.
  • Advanced Excel skills required to consolidate date from multiple sources.
  • Strong ERP base concepts (D365/Business Central/F&O SAP JDE etc.)
  • New ERP implementation experience a strong asset.
  • Power BI reporting experience a benefit.
  • High degree of accuracy with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrated capability as a team player with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements.
  • Criminal record check required.
