Job Description

Position: Team Chair Person (.6 FTE)

Department/Location: District

Pay: In accordance with CBA scale

The Team Chair is employed without regard to age physical mental or psychiatric disability genetics race religion sex sexual orientation gender identity marital status national origin or military status. Organizational Scope:

This position reports directly to the Building Principal and Director ofStudent Services with indirect report to the Superintendent as the appointing authority. The work of the Team Chair is influenced by NRSDs core values of academic achievement and personal growth; voice choice and agency; lifelong learning; a safe caring and inclusive community; collaborative partnerships; innovation; and a sense of belonging for all.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conducts Psychoeducational Assessments
  • Conduct student observations as needed
  • Complete Psychoeducational reports with recommendations
  • Share testing results with parents and other Team members
  • Provide consultation to parents and other team members
  • Respond to referrals for special education evaluation
  • Establish concerns and request appropriate evaluations
  • Lead Annual and Reevaluation Teams to consensus around eligibility and programming needs.
  • Establish Team recommendations for the Individual Education Program expending funds as needed.
  • Oversee the development of the Individual Education Program
  • Adhere to timelines
  • Meet regularly with the Director of Special Education
  • Aid in the coordination of services at the assigned level
  • Complete other tasks as designated by the Director of Special Education and Building Principal
  • Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so
  • Continues with personal professional development
  • Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications & Physical Demands:

Must be licensed as School Psychologist. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and possess a high level of capability with technology. Must be able to assist in the protection of students and school property assist the principal in fire and other emergency drills as required by law and School Committee policy.
