Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of an Accountant on a 3-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 47.00 - 59.68 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Support budget holders with in-year budget monitoring variance analysis and corrective action planning.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets business plans and year-end financial accounts.
- Contribute to financial modelling forecasting and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Analyse financial performance to support medium and long-term financial planning.
- Provide financial input into transformation projects and service reviews.
Requirements:
- A qualified accountant (e.g. CCAB CIMA CIPFA) or finalist close to completion.
- Experience of financial management in a local government or similar public sector setting.
- Strong understanding of budget setting monitoring and year-end closure processes.
- Demonstrated ability to provide financial support for strategic projects and transformation.
