English Academic Mentor Hounslow September 2025 Start
Location: Hounslow West London
Contract: September 2025 July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: 444 per week (PAYE)
Interviews: June/July 2025
Are you a graduate with a love for reading writing and language
A welcoming secondary school in Hounslow is searching for an English Academic Mentor to join their team from September 2025. As an English Academic Mentor youll work alongside English teachers to support pupils across KS3 and KS4. The English Academic Mentor role will involve in-class support small group work and targeted interventions to help pupils build confidence and improve exam outcomes.
Youll be helping students to engage with texts sharpen their analytical skills and develop their written work. This English Academic Mentor role is ideal for graduates considering a career in teaching or education support.
Key responsibilities:
Assisting with English lessons and classroom activities
Delivering small group support and one-to-one tutoring
Helping pupils prepare for English Language and Literature GCSEs
Supporting the development of key literacy skills
Were looking for:
A 2:1 or above in an English-related degree from a UK university
Excellent communication and grammar skills
A patient confident and supportive approach
A full-time commitment until July 2026
Please note: This role is only open to applicants with a UK undergraduate degree. We cannot consider overseas degrees even with a UK Masters. Sponsorship is not available so applicants must have UK citizenship or the right to work via settled status.
